Around 8 million people were asked to evacuate in Japan due to the storm. This typhoon resulted in the loss of electricity in many parts at least hundreds of houses were affected by this power outage. According to Japanese broadcaster NHK, thirty-two people were injured, including four who sustained cuts after the glass windows of an evacuation center were blown in.

After the country being hit with typhoon Maysak on Wednesday in less than a week the country was hit by another typhoon Haishen which had winds of 160 kilometers per hour. According to the local authorities, a few houses were washed away which resulted in four missing people and the rescue teams are continuing searching for the missing people.

Rainfall of almost 20 inches was recorded in just 24 hours in Misato, Kyushu’s Miyazaki prefecture. The japan railway services were closed as well. Even airlines had to be cancelled due to the storm. More than 2,000 7-Eleven convenience stores were closed in the storm-affected areas due to the typhoon.

After the typhoon hit Japan it made its next move towards South Korea. The storm hit the second largest city of South Korea, Ulsan north of Busan. Due to South Korea being a neighbouring country it hit South Korea and people are taking precautions. This also resulted in shutting down the airports and cancelling flights. Train services were stopped as well as flights from more than 10 airports were reportedly cancelled.

According to South Korea’s ministry of the interior and safety around 1,640, South Koreans have evacuated from the city when the typhoon hit. According to reports the day the wind hit the country one person was injured in Busan due to strong winds which had flipped the car says the Ministry.

In South Korea, an alert has been issued to Jeju Island, Gyeongsang province, and other southern parts of the country. The country has been hit with high winds which have resulted in a power outage for almost 5,000 houses.

The evacuation process has been a hard one for the citizens of South Korea as well as japan due to coronavirus. As many citizens are scared if they will get exposed to the virus by moving around. Many people were rejected or turned away from camps due to coronavirus. The shelters were only accepting people half of the normal capacity in their shelters to keep the citizens safe. But social distancing was maintained in these camps between people.

The storm has also hit North Korea and the citizens are alarmed by it. The typhoon makes landfall in North Korea. During the time of these typhoons especially North Korea is very vulnerable as the country has a lot of deforestation in mountains and hills. It has a poor infrastructure which makes it a challenge when it is hit by natural calamities.

Coronavirus has hindered the evacuation of citizens this year causing more problems to the citizens due to the fear of catching the virus. A few people have been dead in Japan as well as South Korea. North Korea has not mentioned about the number of missing people, dead, or causalities.
