With the global pandemic going on coronavirus has been hitting every country with 1,00s and 1,000s of cases every day. New Zealand was one of the only corona free countries for a while but now new cases come up once in a while.
Coronavirus has been very threatening to the human species since the start of the year. What started as an outbreak only in Wuhan, China has spread across various countries like wildfires. It can be scary and affect us but all we can do is take the proper measures to not catch the virus until the vaccine is out.
The Ministry Of Health recorded four new cases in Auckland today. ‘Two cases are in the community and two are in managed isolation ‘said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
The first two cases got infected due to close contact with a patient who was infected with the virus. The second case is a household contact of an infected patient which was linked with the Mt Roskill Evangelical Church Sub cluster.
The ministry said that the four patients are in isolation. Out of the two imported cases, the patients are a mother in her 20s and a kid who is 4. They arrived from India late august. They came in close contact with an infected patient which was reported earlier. The other two cases are linked to the Auckland August cluster.
When certain countries have crossed thousands and ten thousand cases New Zealand has recorded only 1,776 total cases from the start of the outbreak with 24 deaths and 118 active cases. There was a small hike of cases only in the month of March and early April but after that it was a steep decline with a few to no cases in the following months. Comparatively the country is doing much better compared to other countries.
The government is doing an excellent job by helping out the citizens. They have reduced the testing prices so that more and more people will come to test it out so that if more cases are there they can find out.
The ministry informed that the infected patients are either isolated or given proper medical assessment and treatment in hospitals. There are four people infected with COVID in the hospital. Out of the four three people are stable and is in isolation ward. The patients are isolating in Middlemore and two in North Shore hospital. The fourth person is isolating is Waikato hospital due to unstable conditions in the ICU.
Two patients are reported to be recovered by today and both are community cases. Though cases are slowly rising in single digits the citizens try their maximum to take the proper precautions and follow all the Standard Operating Procedures especially after a death was reported after 3 months.
The country also has a NZ COVID TRACER APP which tracks the number of cases every day. The registrations keep increasing and now there are about 2,139,000 users who have registered with the app. There have also been 359.393 posters created. Till date the app has recorded 2,477,964 manual diary entries and 43,433,462 poster scans.
The mobile app has other additional benefits other than tracking the cases every day. The application can also help you to check into places by just scanning the posters. It keeps the private details of the citizens private. Even if you record any information with the app it will automatically get deleted after the completion of 31 days which is about a month. This app can be downloaded from play store.
With the cases increasing the citizens are asked to take proper measures to prevent COVID. Even if you get infected report it to the hospital for them to take necessary actions or stay isolated and don’t come in contact with anyone else and infect them as well.
